AC Milan keen on €40m-rated French striker soon to become free agent
AC Milan are following closely French striker Marcus Thuram who is set to become a free agent at the end of the season.
It’s no longer a secret that AC Milan are not happy with their situation in attack. Zlatan Ibrahimovic will see the pitch in January, Ante Rebic and Divock Origi have suffered numerous injuries leaving only Olivier Giroud available. AC Milan will surely add a new centre forward to their ranks soon the only question is whether it will happen in January or next summer.
The Rossoneri are following a couple of names with Armando Broja believed to be leading the race. However, Chelsea’s reluctance to part ways with the Albanian striker could force Milan to look elsewhere. Borussia Monchengladbach star Marcus Thuram is the new target on AC Milan’s radar.
Journalist Daniele Porro reports that Milan have never lost sight on Thuram. In fact, the Serie A champions have continued to monitor closely his performances. Marcus is the son of French legend Lilian Thuram but, unlike his defender father, has chosen to play in attack.
Marcus has started the new season on a high note scoring 8 goals and assisting 3 in 10 appearances so far. Th 25-year-old France international will not extend his contract with Borussia Monchengladbach and is set to become a free agent at the end of the season. A player that would normally cost €40 million will be available for free.
There is more to Thuram than his price tag. The French is a footballer who benefits greatly from his physique and stature. Still, he’s also a fine technician who can always deal with situations in tight spaces. In addition, Marcus is far from the finished product. There’s a lot more to come from him.
Thuram’s movement is another one of his greatest strengths. His bursts of pace and explosive moments are often too quick for his opponents. He holds his position well, and he does not always get drawn towards play, but instead adopts positions that makes it difficult for defenders to see both him and the ball. Then, when a chance presents itself, he springs into action and sprints in behind.
