AC Milan first January sale practically completed
The agent of AC Milan winger Fabio Borini is in China to close a very lucrative deal with FC Shenzen. The Italian will be the first sale of the Rossoneri in January.

Today Calciomercato.com reveals interesting updates on the future of Fabio Borini. There is talk of a possible goodbye in the coming weeks with Chinese club FC Shenzhen as his next destination. In this season coach Gennaro Gattuso has used him on several on occasions but (with all due respect) more out of necessity given the emergency, than for real choice. 11 appearances between Serie A and Europa League but mostly as a substitute.
The performances of Borini so far have been almost all mediocre but he has been very useful because he has played in almost all the positions on the pitch when required. Already last season he had done so, and his desire to put himself at the service of the team must be appreciated. He has played as full-back, on the right and on the left in the defense of 4, outside in a midfield of 5 and 4, and winger in the three man attack and also as second striker.
Borini is 27 years old, and has a contract with Milan until June 2021. He arrived in the summer of 2017 at the behest of Mirabelli on loan with the obligation to buy (total cost 6 million euros) from Sunderland. Borini’s agent, De Fanti, has arrived in Hong Kong today to meet the management of FC Shenzhen and find an agreement on salary and contract duration. Fabio Borini earns 2.5 million euros at AC Milan will likely double his salary to 5 million. The Rossoneri on the other hand are open to sell because the Italian is not part of the project and could focus other players instead.
According to Calciomercato.com, FC Shenzhen are also in contacts with AC Milan. The Rossoneri value Borini at 15 million euros. Probably too high for the real potential of the player but Chinese clubs are spending big money in the last two years so it will likely not be a problem. Once the Chinese club agree terms with the player they will present an official offer to Milan. The Rossoneri could make a significant gain in terms of the Fair Play Financial, and maybe could invest it on other players with greater prospects or experience to strengthen the squad for the remaining of the session.
