Higuain-Morata, the swap will happen: here’s how
Sportmediaset reports that AC Milan and Chelsea are very close to reaching an agreement on the sensational Higuain-Morata swap.
Gonzalo Higuain to Chelsea and Alvaro Morata to AC Milan. After Gennaro Gattuso’s potential sacking this has been the most discussed topic of the week. Italian and English media has reported that two clubs are studying if such an exchange is possible and if all the parties involved would accept.
Meanwhile, Sportmediaset confirms that discussions between both clubs proceed and an agreement cold materialize already in the coming hours and officially be defined on January 3, at the opening day of the winter transfer window. Contacts between the Rossoneri sporting director Leonardo and Chelsea chief executive Marina Granovskaia have intensified recently.
First of all because AC Milan would like to advance in the negotiations for the permanent signing of Bakayoko. The French defensive midfielder is on loan with the right to buy at the end of the season for 35 million euros. AC Milan are also in pursuit of Cesc Fabregas but have yet to agree a transfer price with Chelsea. However the option of an equal swap between Higuain and Morata is beginning to be the main topic of the discussions.
A deal that could materialize in two ways. The first is a passage of Higuain’s loan from Milan to Chelsea through an ok from Juventus (officially still the owner of Higuain) with the freedom to choose in June whether to permanently sign him or not, in change for an 18 months loan of Morata to AC Milan. The second hypothesis speaks of an exchange of loans for six months and then a definitive swap between El Pipita (after his permanent singing by Milan) and Alvaro Morata at an equal price.

The two club are studying the right option on which all parties can agree. Also, always according to Sportmediaset, even the two coach Gennaro Gattuso and Maurizzio Sarri would be happy to work with Morata and Higuain respectively, striker more inclined to their different ideas of football.
