Cassano reveals Inter had practically signed AC Milan star striker

Former Rossoneri and Nerazzurri striker Antonio Cassano reveals that Inter had practically signed Rafael Leao one year ago.

Rafael Leao is on everyone’s lips for his historic goal that is in fact the fastest ever scored in Italy and across the top five European leagues. In a year full of records for AC Milan, individual ones could not be missing. With just 6.8 seconds, the Portuguese striker has entered his name in history books.

At the Mapei Stadium Leao scored a vital goal that was crucial for the Rossoneri to retain their first spot in Serie A standings. After a first season of highs and lows AC Milan are betting strongly on Leao, for the present and for the future, but he must make a decisive leap on a mental level. From a technical point of view, the 21-year-old doesn’t miss anything. Antonio Cassano shares his appreciation for Rafael Leao during Christian Vieri’s Twitch program.

And on this occasion, the former AC Milan and Inter striker made a sensational revelation. In fact it seems that Leao was really one step away from joining Inter. Indeed, Cassano revealed that Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio had practically signed Leao.

I like Rafael Leao very much. Before AC Milan took him, Ausilio signaled him to me. He told me to go see him because Inter had practically signed Leao“.

Cassano then focuses on an aspect of Leao that still does not fully convince him, namely his role on the pitch: “Does he play on the wing? Or is he a centre forward? Second striker? Where? I don’t understand it yet”. So far the striker has shown his best as left winger even though he has often been used as centre forward.
