Elliott to make a sacrifice for Lucas Torreira

With Stefano Sensi headed for Inter, AC Milan are now fully concentrated on Arsenal star Lucas Torreira.

MILAN TRANSFER NEWS – Stefano Sensi is headed for Inter. The city-rivals have satisfied the requests of Sassuolo practically completing a transfer on loan with the right or obligation to buy. The total cost of the transfer is €30 million euros, a figure that AC Milan considered too high and made clear to Sassuolo they had no intention of paying.

AC Milan must identify another defensive midfielder that can help Marco Giampaolo implement his football ideas. The primary target is in fact an old name, Arsenal star Lucas Torreira, a player Giampaolo transformed into one of the best in Europe during their time at Sampdoria.

According to reports by Tuttosport, AC Milan owners Elliott would be willing to make a sacrifice for the young Uruguayan, a protege of coach Giampaolo. Arsenal demand €40 million for 23-year-old defensive midfielder. Despite the initial resistance, the English club has a tight budget this summer and needs to sell some players in order to invest.

The other good news is that the former Sampdoria wants to return to Italy. Despite a very positive first season in England, Torreira misses Italy and he favors a move to AC Milan. A few days ago the player declared: “Life was better in ItalyThe language [barrier] has stopped me, to be able to relate with my team-mates and with the people. It is very difficult when you can’t have dialogue. And so is the climate. You go out in the morning and it is cloudy, you arrive late to your home and it is cloudy“.

New AC Milan coach Marco Giampaolo could play a fundamental role in this transfer. The two have a great relationship and for his 4-3-1-2 game system, Giampaolo needs a strong defensive midfielder that can break opponents and help the team in attack. Lorenzo Pellegrini is another profile that excites the interest of the Rossoneri but he is rather a pure central midfielder.
