AC Milan and Napoli duel again for former target

AC Milan and Napoli are ready to repeat last summer’s duel with both clubs again interested in the French midfielder of Roma.

AC Milan and Napoli are dueling not only for the fifth place in Serie A standings. The two teams will also compete on the transfer market.

Corriere della Sera talks about a possible clash between the Rossoneri and the Neapolitans for the Jordan Veretout, who for the past three years has been playing in Italy. The 26-year-old French midfielder is a flexible, dynamic and very fast player who would be comfortable for both teams.

Last summer when Veretout was about to leave Fiorentina he had attracted the interests of both AC Milan and Napoli. Roma emerged victorious with a better offer of around 19 million euros.

Now, with the Giallorossi in financial troubles, AC Milan and Napoli are ready to make a new attempt. At the Rossoneri, Veretout would serve as a first alternative for both Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie while at Napoli he would replace Allan who is expected to join Everton.

A duel which will be decided by the highest bidder in case Roma accept to sell their midfielder. Veretout currently is a regular starter for the Giallorossi and this season he has made 41 appearances scoring 5 goals in all competitions.
