AC Milan held secret meeting with Napoli star agent

Gianluca Di Marzio reveals that Paolo Maldini hosted the agent of Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne at Casa Milan yesterday.

The summer transfer window is approaching and at Casa Milan the management is planning the next moves. While waiting to understand if AC Milan will play in the Champions League or not, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara are studying potential signings.

As revealed last week by Fabrizio Romano, the Rossoneri scouts have nearly 100 players on their list of targets. Many are young players with potential but experienced one are also expected to arrive. Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Lorenzo Insigne could be a surprise target this summer.

While Juve and Napoli were on the pitch at the Allianz Stadium, at Casa Milan, Insigne’s agent Vincenzo Pisacane met with Rossoneri technical director Paolo Maldini. An unexpected meeting held in great secrecy.

According to Di Marzio, it could be a just courtesy visit but Insigne’s contract situation suggests otherwise. The Napoli star and captain has not year renewed his contract with the Partenopei and risks becoming a free agent in one year. President Aurelio De Laurentiis and the Italian have been unable to reach an agreement so far.

The 29-year-old Italian left winger is having another great season scoring 15 goals and assisting 5 in 26 league appearances. Lorenzo Insigne currently ears 4.6 million euros at Napoli and is valued at around 45 million euros. The potential purchase of Lorenzo Insigne would require a significant investment from Elliot but signing one of Serie A’s biggest stars at a discount price would be a great deal.
