Milan want Atalanta star for the defence

Atalanta star Rafael Toloi is the new target of AC Milan for the defence. The 28 year old plays in Italy since 2014 and wouldn’t need time to adapt to Serie A.

The defense of Milan seen in recent weeks has been in a true state of emergency. Mateo Musacchio and Alessio Romagnoli will be back soon, but it is likely that Milan will operate on the market in January to find another centre back that can lend a helping hand regarding the Champions League cause.

The ideal defender for Milan, to be purchased in the January transfer window, must have the following characteristics: maturity, experience, physical integrity and ability to adapt immediately to an exciting environment as well as difficult like AC Milan. A player who could answer all these peculiarities is the Brazilian Rafael Toloi.

The 28 year old defender of Atalanta in recent seasons has become one of the most reliable centre backs of Serie A. Coach Gasperini worked a lot on the formation of the former Sao Paulo and the results have paid off. Toloi has experience and the right grit to integrate himself into AC Milan’s squad even in mid-season, as he did in 2014 when he was signed on loan by Roma.

According to Sky Sports, the Rossoneri could continue to shop in Bergamo. After signing in recent sessions players like Bonaventura, Kessie, Conti and Caldara, Milan could move on Toloi to strengthen the defence. Sky reports that except Toloi, Leonardo has also met the agents of Remo Freuler, another Atalanta talent that could be useful in midfield. However convincing president Percassi to sell his talents is never an easy feat.
