AC Milan offer Rebic in swap deal for new winger

AC Milan plan to make a new proposal to Roma offering Ante Rebic plus cash in exchange for Nicolo Zaniolo.

AC Milan’s list of transfer targets for the right wing continues to grow. Domenico Berardi, Marco Asensio, Noa Lang and De Ketelaere have all been linked with a potential move to the Rossoneri this summer. Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo is the new name on AC Milan’s radar. An old target, in fact, since Milan have been following the 22-year-old for a long time.

The Italian prodigy is expected to leave the capitol this summer. Zaniolo has a contract until 2024 and, with renewal talks frozen for months, Roma need to sell him now in order to profit a decent figure from his departure. Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Rossoneri have already made an opening bid.

AC Milan have reportedly offered €25 million plus Alexis Saelemaekers for Nicolo Zaniolo. However, the offer was rejected by Roma. Jose Mourinho has vetoed the name of the Belgian, The Roma coach needs a winger of different characteristics and Saelemaekers does not meet his requirements.

AC Milan plan to make a new proposal short according to Il Messaggero. Maldini will offer the same figure, 25 million, plus Ante Rebic rather than Saelemaekers. The Croatian is the classic winger with a keen eye for goal. Something that Saelemaekers misses in his repertoire.

AC Milan hope that the name of Ante Rebic will be more tempting for Roma. The 28-year-old left winger had a difficult season at San Siro. He made 29 appearances scoring 3 goals and assisting 2. A couple of injuries prevented him from playing a bigger part in AC Milan Scudetto win this season.

Zaniolo has had problems of his own this season although his physical condition has improved considerably. The 22-year-old played a key part in the Giallorossi’s historic Conference League triumph. Overall, the Italy international scored 8 goals and provided 9 assists in 42 appearances.
