Sampdoria star to replace Bakayoko at Milan
Bakayoko and AC Milan could part ways very soon. The Rossoneri have targeted Sampdoria star Dennis Praet as his replacement.
Against Sampdoria, AC Milan decided to change formation and use the classic 4-4-2. It was a wise move from coach Gennaro Gattuso to use two strikers and in the end it paid off, Milan won and scored 3 goals against one of the best defenses in Serie A this season.
Nevertheless the Rossoneri still have gaps regarding dynamism and personality in the middle of the field. Gattuso’s team could use some reinforcements in that department because Rino relies only on the usual trio Biglia, Bonaventura, Kessie. If one of these players is not at his best then other options for the coach are very limited, almost non-existent.
It is therefore imperative the purchase of at least one midfielder. Gattuso needs quality and the current roster is not enough. Now the Rossoneri have laid eyes on Sampdoria’s star midfielder Dennis Praet. The Belgium central midfielder played for 90 minutes in yesterday’s match between the two clubs and was one of the best on the pitch for Sampdoria.
The Rossoneri were impressed by the dynamic and technical qualities of the former Anderlecht, which on paper would be a perfect substitute for Kessie or Bonaventura in midfield. But with Tiemoue Bakayoko headed back to London in advance it seems that Leonardo has identified Denis Praet as the perfect replacement for the Frenchman.
The Chelsea loanee has failed to integrate into Italian football and make himself useful for Milan. The early departure of Bakayoko would allow Milan to make a new signing. Sampdoria signed Praet for 10 million euros in 2016 and currently value him at 25 million.
