Paredes-Milan, Zenit’s official request
Milan urgently need a new central midfielder and the match against Juventus was another testimony why. Zenit star Leandro Paredes is Leonardo’s top choice.
The injuries of Lucas Biglia and Giacomo Bonaventura and the lack of valid alternatives with similar qualities have put Gennaro Gattuso in great difficulty. The Rossoneri coach needs at least one skilled central midfielder to orchestrate the game of AC Milan. For this reason, in January the Rossoneri will go on the hunt for another element with certain characteristics.
One of the most popular names to linked with AC Milan is that of Argentine star Leandro Paredes. The 24 year old defensive midfielder, wants to return to Italy, after past experience between Chievo, Empoli and Roma. He transferred to Zenit St. Petersburg in the summer of 2017 for 27 million euros.
Paredes seems to be one of the favorite transfer targets of technical director Leonardo. The Brazilian is convinced in the qualities of Paredes and sees him as the perfect and immediate replacement for the injured Lucas Biglia, whose place Paredes has inherited at the national team. AC Milan are also interested in Sassuolo promising midfielder Stefano Sensi but the Zenit regista is clearly a player of a different category.
Leonardo inquired about the possibility of a loan move with the right, or obligation, to buy but the Russian club rejected such a proposal. According to Tuttosport, in recent contacts between the two clubs, Zenit have officially named the price tag of their star. Leandro Paredes will not leave Russia unless AC Milan offer 30 million euros.
A high figure for the Red and Blacks that still does not know if they can invest a lot of money in the winter transfer window. Much will depend on UEFA’s decision of 20 November, but the will of the player is clear. Paredes wants to return to Italy and join Milan.
