Tuttosport: AC Milan close Rogel signing

Agustin Rogel is set to become a Rossoneri player. AC Milan and the defender have agreed a deal that will bring the promising defender in Italy on a free transfer next June.

A quiet winter transfer window for AC Milan, who have preferred, due to internal club issues, not to enlarge the squad and make new investments. Massimiliano Mirabelli, however, continues to work for the summer session in June 2018. In fact, according to Tuttosport, AC Milan have already closed a purchase in defense. Confirmations arrive on the agreement between the Rossoneri club and the young Uruguayan talent Agustin Rogel. The 20 year old player is one of the most interesting centre backs in the South American football scene, but most likely he will leave his team, Club Nacional, at the end of the season, also considering the imminent expiry of his contract.

The current contract between Rogel and his club is due to expire next June 30 and AC Milan have taken advantage of it. Sports director Mirabelli has reached an agreement with the entourage of the defender and has anticipated the competition of other big European clubs, including Inter who had moved in recent months to purchase Rogel.

Rogel will join the Rossoneri in June on a free transfer, a signing that could start a sort of clean-up operation in AC Milan’s back line. In recent hours the club has terminated the contract of Gabriel Paletta who is free to join a new team and Gustavo Gomez is expected to follow him. While in summer other useless elements like Antonelli, Zapata and Musacchio can leave the squad and make room for talents of greater perspective like the Uruguayan defender.
