Tuttosport: The plan to sign Edin Dzeko

The Rossoneri want to bring a new prolific striker for next season and Roma’s Edin Dzeko is one of the most tempting alternatives.

A striker that can score at least 20 goals per season, a bomber. The request of coach Rino Gattuso couldn’t have been more specific. An after the last summer overhaul it’s clear that AC Milan has a big problem up front. According to mercato rumors, one of the main targets, of the Rossoneri for the attack is the Bosnian 32 year old Edin Dzeko, undoubtedly one of the best strikers in Serie A.

According to today’s reports by Tuttosport, the key to get to the Giallorossi striker could be Carlos Bacca. The Colombian – who is not part of club plans for next season – is on loan at Villarreal. If the Spaniards decide not to exercise their buy option (set at 15.5 million euros), AC Milan could offer Bacca to Roma in exchange for Edin Dzeko .

Carlos is an old protege of Roma’s sports director Monchi, who signed him for Sevilla in 2013 and then sold him, a couple of years later, to AC Milan for 30 million. The Giallorossi manager is a great admirer of Bacca, so the possibility to get him back could be tempting for him in particular. Everything, of course, will depend on Villarreal, who are currently asking for a discount in order to permanently sign the Colombian striker but the Red and Blacks are in no mood of fulfilling such requests.
