AC Milan new signing Samu Castillejo has impressed in his first outing with the Rossoneri and his former club of Villarreal are already lamenting his departure.
Samu Castillejo is one of the new faces at San Siro this season. AC Milan signed the talented 23 year old right winger for 18 million euros plus the services of Carlos Bacca. However Villarreal seem to have regretted the departure of the Spanish star.
Villarreal managing director Fernando Roig Negueroles confirmed for AS that selling Samu Castillejo to Milan was not part of their plans: “We did not think about letting him go, or rather it was not on our initial plans, but then an interesting proposal arrived, which allowed us to sign Bacca. But we did not want to sell Castillejo, at least not this season“.
Samuel Castillejo made 127 appearances for Villarreal scoring 11 goals throughout three seasons. He made his official debut at San Siro against Roma where he featured for only 10 minutes but enough to demonstrate sparks of his talent. The versatile Spaniard that can also act as left winger is expected to play a crucial role for the Rossoneri this season.
