Sampdoria vs Milan: probable lineups

AC Milan face Sampdoria today in what is the penultimate match of Serie A. Many players return after suspension and injuries.

AC Milan wants to resume its march towards Europe. Today evening at 19.30 the Rossoneri will travel to Genoa to play against Sampdoria. The 1-1 draw against Atalanta has ended the winning streak, now the Rossoneri can no longer stop.

In yesterday’s press conference, coach Stefano Pioli made it clear that there is a lot of difference between a fifth and a sixth place, in the setting for the start of next season. The month of September, in case AC Milan were to play the Europa League preliminaries, would be full of commitments. The Rossoneri team will do their utmost to qualify directly for Europa League.

Sampdoria have already secured their stay in Serie A but will not gift points to anyone in this season finale, which is why Milan will have to face the match with the right concentration.

For Sampdoria vs Milan there will return Ismael Bennacer and Theo Hernandez from the first minute after their one match suspension. Their absence was felt a lot against Atalanta and they are looking forward to contributing again for the Rossoneri’s cause.

Andrea Conti is still absent, as well as Alessio Romagnoli who will miss the remaining Serie A games. Matteo Gabbia will replace the captain again. Davide Calabria will play on the right, while Simon Kjaer will still be the central point in defence.

In midfield the doubt that torments Stefano Pioli is that between Alexis Saelemaekers and Samu Castillejo. The Spaniard has returned after an injury so the Belgium winger is in advantage. Hakan Calhanoglu and Ante Rebic will be next to him. Once again Zlatan Ibrahimovic will lead the attack.

SAMPDORIA (4-4-2): Audero; Tonelli, Yoshida, Colley, Augello; Depaoli, Linetty, Bertolacci, Jankto; Gabbiadini, Quagliarella.

AC MILAN (4-2-3-1): G. Donnarumma; Calabria, Kjaer, Gabbia, Theo Hernandez; Kessie, Bennacer; Saelemaekers, Calhanoglu, Rebic; Ibrahimovic
