Benevento vs Milan, probable lineups

AC Milan face Benevento in their first match for 2021. Several Rossoneri player are out because of injuries and suspension.

On Sunday, the Rossoneri travel to Benevento for their first Serie A match in 2021. In Benevento vs Milan coach Stefano Pioli will face former Rossoneri coach and club legend Filippo Inzaghi.

As in recent games Milan will be without some of their players for the first encounter of the new year. Ibrahimovic, Gabbia, Bennacer and Alexis Saelemaekers are still injured and risk missing even the next match with Juventus. Theo Hernandez is suspended for Benevento vs Milan.

The good news is the return of Simon Kjaer. After many games out the Danish star will return at the heart of the defence alongside captain Alessio Romagnoli. Theo Hernandez will be replaced on the left by Diogo Dalot while Davide Calabria completes the back four.

After a one match suspension Franck Kessie will return at the center of the midfield. The Ivorian will partner with Sandro Tonali. Coach Stefano Pioli has a big doubt up front. Samu Castillejo and Brahim Diaz are fighting for a spot on the right wing with the former Real Madrid more likely to start.

The rest of the attacking unit will have no changes. Like in last match, even for Benevento vs Milan, it will be Rafael Leao to play as centre forward with Ante Rebic returning to his natural role on the left wing.

BENEVENTO (4-3-2-1): Montipò; Letizia, Glik, Tuia, Barba; Ionita, Schiattarella, Hetemaj; Caprari, Improta, Lapadula.

AC MILAN (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Calabria, Kjaer, Romagnoli, Dalot; Tonali, Kessie; Diaz (Castillejo), Calhanoglu, Rebic; Leao.
