Juventus vs Milan, probable lineups

AC Milan face Juventus in a match that is expected to be decisive for the Champions League ambitions of both clubs.

Tonight, at 20:45 CET, Juventus host AC Milan in what will be the main event of Serie A week 35. Juventus vs Milan will be a direct challenge for a spot in next season’s Champions League. Both clubs, together with Atalanta have the same number of points, 69, while Napoli have one point more.

The Rossoneri have not won in Torino since the 2010/2011 season, that of the last Scudetto. But at that time the Bianconeri weren’t playing in their new stadium, where Milan has never managed to win and in Serie A has always lost. The only two draws at the Stadium are in Coppa Italia. Therefore, Pioli has a taboo to end.

In defence the Italian coach seems to have resolved his doubt regarding the central duo, more precisely the partner of Simon Kjaer. Fikayo Tomori will be chosen over captain Romagnoli. Theo Hernandez and Davide Calabria complete the back four.

Everything clear in midfield. Once again Ismael Benancer and Franck Kessie will be the Rossoneri’s duo. The Algerian looks far from his best form but Pioli trust him to make the difference in Juventus vs Milan. Interesting changes could be made up front.

Brahim Diaz is set to be the surprise with Alexis Saelemaekers undisputed on the other wing. Both Rafael Leao and Ante Rebic will sit on the bench. The presence of Hakan Calhanoglu in the attacking midfielder role is guaranteed while Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be leading the attack against his former club. Pioli’s usual 4-2-3-1 formation will be a hidden 4-4-2 with Diaz acting as second striker.

JUVENTUS (4-4-2): Szczesny, Danilo, De Ligt, Chiellini, Alex Sandro, Cuadrado, Bentancurt, Rabiot, Chiesa, Morata, Ronaldo.

AC MILAN (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma, Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo Hernandez, Bennacer, Kessie, Saelemaekers, Calhanoglu, Diaz, Ibrahimovic.
