Milan vs Inter, probable lineups

AC Milan will host Inter at the San Siro tonight. The Derby della Madonnina will be a very important match to influence the Scudetto winner.

The Derby della Madonnina will be the main event of Serie A week 12. Milan vs Inter is one of the most glorious matches of Italian football. The Rossoneri are currently leading the league 32 points while the Nerazzurri are in third spot with 7 points behind.

This time, AC Milan will be facing not only a direct rival for the Scudetto but also their former player Hakan Calhanoglu. The Turkish attacking midfielder joined Inter this summer on a free transfer and will be facing his ex club for the first time.

AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli has already projected the starting eleven. Theo Hernandez is suspended for Milan vs Inter after the red card he received against Roma. Fode Ballo-Toure will play on the left. If he is not fully fit Pierre Kalulu will start. Simon Kajer will form the central duo with Fikayo Tomori. Captain Davide Calabria completes the back four with Tatarusanu between the posts.

It looks like Sandro Tonali and Franck Kessie have imposed themselves as the starting midfield duo in Pioli’s eyes. The two will partner again for the derby against Inter with Ismael Benancer ready to contribute in the second half.

Pioli’s big doubt for Milan vs Inter concerns the attacking midfielder role. Brahim Diaz is not yet fully fit so Rade Krunic is in advantage over the Spanish trequartista. Alexis Saelemaekers and Rafael Leao will be in support of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swedish giant will lead the attack. A good news for the Rossoneri is the return of Ante Rebic.

AC MILAN XI (4-2-3-1): Tatarusanu; Calabria, Tomori, Kjaer, Ballo Touré; Kessié, Tonali; Saelemaekers, Krunic (Diaz), Leao; Ibrahimovic.

INTER XI (3-5-2): Handanovic; Skriniar, De Vrij, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Brozovic, Calhanoglu, Perisic; Dzeko, Lautaro Martinez.
