Report: AC Milan agree midfielder signing

AC Milan have reached an agreement to sign Soualiho Meite from Torino. Pioli will finally have a new midfielder at his disposal.

Sandro Tonali’s conditions will be evaluated better in the next few hours but it looks like the player has suffered a slight trauma and no problems are expected. That’s good news for AC Milan who are in a state of emergency especially in midfield, where only Franck Kessie is available.

In yesterday’s match against Torino, after the injury of Tonali, Davide Calabria played again in midfield alongside the Ivorian. It was the second time after the match against Juventus and it’s now evident that new signings in midfield are quite urgent.

The name at the top of Maldini’s list of targets these days is that of Soualiho Meite. After Kouadio Kone’s choice to play in Germany, the Rossoneri are in advanced contacts with the Torino player and a deal should be announced very son.

Torino are open to let the 26-year-old leave because coach Marco Giampaolo no longer considers him a regular starter. Journalist Nicolo Schira reports that AC Milan are completing the signing of  Soualiho Meite on loan for one million euros. The Rossoneri will have an option to make the transfer permanent for another 9 million.

After the Serie A battle, AC Milan’s match is again against Torino in the Coppa Italia. The two clubs will discuss the last details of the agreement and then the French player will be Pioli’s reinforcement in midfield.
