AC Milan have booked medicals for new signing

AC Milan will try until the end of the transfer window to bring in another centre forward and complete their attack.

AC Milan have underwent an unprecedent squad overhaul this summer. The new management has completed 9 signings for the first squad and their job is not yet done. The Rossoneri will try until the end of the mercato to sign a new centre forward and Mehdi Taremi remains the top target on Furlani’s list.

At the end of the match won 4-1 against Torino, Stefano Pioli hinted at the next signing. “Giroud is a great player, but it’s clear that when the Champions League comes, nobody will be able to guarantee you 100% for the whole season if you want to be competitive in both competitions. The more solutions we have, the better it will be. You know how I feel. At the moment we’re fine, the club will see what to do“.

AC Milan have never abandoned the pursuit of Mehdi Taremi. The 31-year-old Porto striker is a proven goal scorer with vast experience. Coach Stefano Pioli considers Mehdi Taremi the last missing piece to complete the attack with Lorenzo Colombo set to join Monza once the signing a new striker is closed.

AC Milan and Porto are in direct contract to reach an agreement otherwise Mehdi Taremi will become a free agent next year. Journalist Andrea Longoni reports that AC Milan have already booked medicals for a new player at the La Madonnina at the beginning of next week. Another signal that Milan are optimistic on landing their man.

According to the latest reports Porto have dropped their asking price for Mehdi Taremi to €20 million plus add-ons while AC Milan are offering €15 million plus add-ons. The distance has shortened a lot. Meanwhile, the player has already agreed personal terms on a three-year contract at €3 million per season plus bonuses.
