AC Milan in advanced contacts with midfielder

Not only negotiations with Juventus for Mattia Caldara and Gonzalo Higuain, technical director Leonardo is also working to strengthen the midfield.

Yesterday Sky Sport reported that the Rossoneri are considering two players to strengthen the midfielder. One of the two alternatives was Diadie Samassékou, 22 year old Mali midfielder that plays for Red Bull Salzburg. The young defensive midfielder has only one year remaining in his contract with the Austrian club and he could easily adapt as central midfielder. A very ductile player.

According to Mohamed Bouhafsi, journalist of RMC Sport, AC Milan have already initiated contacts with Samassékou’s agent. RB Salzburg are known to demand very high fees for its players, but in this case, considering the player’s contract situation, Leonardo could be up for a bargain. The new technical director of Milan, always very attentive to young promising players around the world, wants to close a deal soon and has accelerated negotiations in recent hours.

Coach Gennaro Gattuso has explicitly demanded a new midfielder that can act as vice-Kessie but also to have the potential to become a regular starter in the future. Considering the player’s performances in his last two seasons it seems that Samassékou is ready for a big step forward.
