AC Milan amazed by Leipzig defender

The risk that Alessio Romagnoli may leave this summer is quite real and AC Milan are already targeting worthy alternatives in defense.

Not only Timo Werner. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports today that AC Milan are interested is another footballer that plays in Germany with Red Bull Leipzig and the Rossoneri seem to be enchanted by his skills. We are talking about Dayot Upamecano who despite his young age is one of the pillars of the German side. In addition to the Rossoneri, interested in the French defender are also Liverpool and Arsenal.

A centre back of enormous potential that commands a first team place at RB Leipzig despite being just 19 years old. Upamecano is very similar to Raphael Varane or Mats Hummels. The young defender reads his opponents well and shows good anticipation to win challenges. He is aggressive but not reckless and can dribble out of defense to help his team build up play.

Upamecano joined the German club in January 2017 for 10 million euros and has already established himself as one of the brightest talents in Bundesliga. AC Milan’s recent interest in him and Ruben Dias (read here) demonstrates that the Rossoneri could already be preparing for life after Alessio Romagnoli. The Italian is in high demand and could leave San Siro this summer.
