AC Milan looking at Roma duo to replace Kessie

AC Milan are looking at Roma for Kessie’s replacement. The Giallorrosi duo are on the market after failing to agree new contracts.

AC Milan are set to lose Franck Kessie on a free transfer at the end of the season. The Ivorian central midfielder has already found his next club and did not wait until the end of the season to sign his new contract for Barcelona. Kessie’s departure as a free agent represents a €32 million loss for AC Milan.

Nevertheless, the departure of Franck Kessie is not seen as cause for concern from the management. The Rossoneri are already planning their squad for next season with great serenity. Renato Sanches is the main candidate but AC Milan are also looking at Roma for Kessie’s replacement.

Corriere di Roma reports that Roma duo Jordan Veretout and Bryan Cristante are on the Rossoneri’s radar. Veretout was very close to joining AC Milan in 202o but eventually moved to Roma. The French midfielder has done really well with the Giallorossi but he will not be renewing his contract. A decision that has left Roma no other choice but to sell him this summer. His price tag is around 20 million.

Cristante is former player of AC Milan. The Italian made his breakthrough with the Rossoneri but was later sold to Benfica. The 27-year-old is in a similar contractual situation with Veretout. His contract with Roma expires in two years and the parties have failed to reach an agreement.

Bryan Cristante has a higher market value of around €20-25 million. Both players cost nearly the same fee AC Milan are prepared to spend for Sanches but the Portuguese star has higher salary expectations.
