TS: The reason why AC Milan have chosen Origi over Belotti

AC Milan are working to complete the signing of Divock Origi on a free transfer from Liverpool rather than Andrea Belotti.

AC Milan will add a new striker to their ranks when the summer transfer window opens. The Rossoneri need a new centre forward to play alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud. Liverpool’s Divock Origi is expected be wear the Red and Black jersey despite rumors about Andrea Belotti and Gianluca Scamacca.

Sassuolo are currently asking a transfer fee of 40 million euros for Gianluca Scamacca while AC Milan are not inclined to go beyond €30 million. Economic terms have blocked AC Milan from Scamacca but Origi and Andrea Belotti are in similar conditions.

Both are set to become free agents and their age difference is just one year. Nevertheless, AC Milan are preferring Divock Origi over Andrea Belotti. Tuttosport explains the reasons behind the Rossoneri’s decision to go for the Belgian rather than the Italian striker.

Belotti has never fully convinced the AC Milan management and coach Stefano Pioli. The Rossoneri do not consider the Torino striker a good fit for their game that’s why they are going for Origi instead”, reports Tuttosport.

In fact, it was Belotti to offer himself to AC Milan rather then the Rossoneri expressing a real interest in the 28-year-old forward. Furthermore, Origi has international experience and has played at the most prestigious stages with Liverpool despite not being a regular starter.
