AC Milan reach deal to extend player contracts

AC Milan has reached an agreement to extend stay of six players whose contracts expired on 30 June.

AC Milan are ready to renew the expiring player contracts at least until the end of the 2019-2020 season. Gianlucadimarzio.com reports that the Rossoneri club and the players have reached an agreement.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Lucas Biglia and Giacomo Bonaventura, whose contracts expired on 30 June, will stay at AC Milan for two more months, until 31 August.

The two midfielders will leave AC Milan on 1 September, as widely anticipated. On the other hand the future of Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still to be deciphered. There is a small chance that he may stay but talks are postponed at the end of the season.

AC Milan have also agreed the extension of the loans for Begovic, Kjaer and Saelemaekers. All three players will continue to play at San Siro for at least until the end of the season. In the meantime, Milan will evaluate the possibility of signing the three on permanent deals or not.

Everything will be formalized next Monday,  before the deadline of June 30th. Once again it was technical director Paolo Maldini to play a key role in discussions with the players and their clubs.
