AC Milan sign Diogo Dalot on Diaz-like agreement

AC Milan have completed  the signing of Diogo Dalot from Manchester United in a similar agreement to that of Brahim Diaz with Real Madrid.

Diogo Dalot is the newest player to join AC Milan. The Portuguese full-back landed in Milan today and carried out medical examinations at the La Madonnina clinic, before signing his contract with the Rossoneri.

Talks with Manchester United were brief but Dalot was on AC Milan’s radar since the beginning of the year when the management started to consider the possibility of adding a new right back.

Dalot join AC Milan on dry loan for one season but, just like for Brahim Diaz, the Red and Blacks have a verbal agreement with the Red Devils to sit down and discuss the possibility of a permanent transfer later on.

During negotiations with Manchester United it was impossible to agree a future fee for the 21-year-old right back. The English giants wanted to include an obligation to buy Dalot for 30 million euros but Milan considered this fee excessive.

In 2018 Manchester United signed Diogo Dalot for a fee of 22 million euros from Porto. The Portuguese right back was a specific request of former coach Jose Mourinho. The 21-year-old has been unable to secure e regular spot at Old Trafford during his two seasons in the Premier League collecting a total of 35 appearances in all competitions.
