AC Milan sign former Barcelona wonderkid

AC Milan are set to sign Croatian starlet Alen Halilovic from Hamburg. The player is currently having his medicals and later he will sign a contract with the Rossoneri.

While the club was dealing with UEFA’s decision, sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli was closing the last details for the purchase of Alen Halilovic. The former Barcelona prospect is currently having his medical and later he will sign a three-year contract with the Rososneri.

The 22-year-old Croatian midfielder was one of the most wanted players in Europe after his breakthrough at Dinamo Zagreb before moving to Spain in 2015 for 5 million euros. Halilovic made only one official appearance with the first team and after just one year he moved o Sporting Gijon. This season he was part of Las Palmas. It was not a good year for the young attacking midfielder who scored 2 goals and provided 2 assists in 20 games while Las Palmas as relegated.

It’s not yet clear the fee AC Milan are paying to Hamburg for his services but the German club payed 5 million euros in 2016 before loaning him back to Spain. Considered by many as the natural successor of his countryman Luka Modric, Halilovic has earned another chance to prove himself at the highest levels.
