AC Milan to sign Adrien Rabiot but only on one condition

Leonardo and Maldini are always at work trying to improve the AC Milan squad. The duo is optimistic about closing the signing of Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer.

Despite the summer transfer window ending a few days a go, the Rossoneri continue to pursue Adrien Rabiot for next season. AC Milan have intensified contacts in recent week with the player and his representatives and Leonardo is doing all he can to bring the talented French to Milanello.

The PSG star has fallen out of favor with the French giants especially on the contract renewal issue. His current agreement will expire in June 2019 and it is highly unlikely that the entourage of Rabiot, led by his mother, will sign a new deal with the Parisians more for technical than economic reasons. PSG had offered more than 5 million euros net per season to convince the youngster to stay but Rabiot seems inclined to try a new professional adventure elsewhere.

Meanwhile, according to Sportmediaset, Leonardo and Malidni are optimism on signing Rabiot. The Rossoneri are not the only ones interested in the 23 year old central midfielder but they can rely on the excellent relationship between the player in question and the Brazilian technical director, with whom Rabiot signed his first ever contract renewal as a first-team player.

However AC Milan aim to close the deal only on one condition: Rabiot must arrive at San Siro as a free transfer as the Red and Blacks do not intend to pay anything to PSG. According to rumors, AC Milan have proposed Rabiot a contract of more than 4 million euros and for now the only obstacle remains Milan’s final positioning when Serie A ends. If the Rossoneri manage to qualify for Champions League next season everything will be just a formality.
