Ancelotti has pleaded Real Madrid president Perez to sign AC Milan star

Real Madrid are looking to rejuvenate their attack and Carlo Ancelotti is targeting AC Milan star Rafael Leao.

Rafael Leao had a year to remember with AC Milan last season. The Portuguese left winger gudied the Rossoneri to Serie A glory last season and was also named the league’s best players. Leao has started the new season on right foot scoring 6 goals and assisting 9 in 19 appearances so far.

The Italian champions want to extends Leao’s contract but the situation has gotten quite complicated. The Portuguese left winger is reportedly asking at least 7 million per season plus the club to pay the nearly €20 million fine he owes to Sporting Lisbon. AC Milan find themselves in the middle of a complex issue and risk losing the 23-year-old.

With his contract expiring in the summer of 2024 several interested clubs have began to circle around. The AC Milan star has become one of Europe’s hottest properties and is wanted by Europe’s biggest clubs. Real Madrid are the latest clubs to join a race that was so far led by Chelsea and Manchester City.

The Daily Mail reports that coach Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly pleaded with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to do everything to sign Rafael Leao in January. The English newspaper reports that Real Madrid have targeted Victor Osimhen and Leao to rejuvenate their attack following the failure to land Kylian Mbappe and heavy reliance on injured Karim Benzema.

Ancelotti is strongly demanding the signing of a new left winger. The Italian coach has rarely relied on Eden Hazard with the Belgian star featuring for a disappointing total of only 229 minutes on the pitch so far. Rafael Leao has a release clause of €150 million but it can be triggered only during the summer transfer window.
