Andre Silva explains why he chose Milan
Andre Silva in an interview for Milan TV explains why he chose to join AC Milan.
Andre Silva was the latest high profile player to join AC Milan. Ever since his name was first mentioned as a potential target for the rossoneri, excitement surrounded the red and black fans. He is considered by many football experts as a future star and as Cristiano Ronaldo’s natural heir. The talented 21 year old can play as centre forward but also as right winger. Marco Fassone and Massimiliano Mirabelli strongly believe they got their hands on football’s next superstar. Silva penned a 5 year contract.
His first words for Milan TV were: “I am very happy to be here, i have already seen the training grounds and i was left speechless. I am surprised and can’t wait to start“. When the reporter asked rossoneri’s new striker he replies: “I chose AC Milan because of its glorious history, their rich history in Champions League. When my agent first phoned to tell me about Milan’s interest i didn’t think it twice. I did not want to lose this great opportunity. I hope to give my best and help the team this season. I used to watch Milan especially when Ronaldo, the phenomenon, played here. He and Cristiano Ronaldo are my favorite players. I also used to see Rui Costa when he played for Milan even though i was a child“.
Andre Silva reveals he used to be called Deco when he was 15 years old and played in the midfield. “They called me Deco because i played as a midfielder and in Portugal every promising kid who plays in that position call him so. I wished they call me Cristiano Ronaldo but another kid in our team had already took that name“. When asked what are his ambitions for this season Silva replies: “I hope we win the Championship and as many games as possible. While on personal level i want to give my best and help the team. I am very happy to be here“. Silva repeated the same statement in a short interview for Il Corriere dello Sport emphasize Milan’s glorious history as the main reason he chos to join the rossoneri.
