Chelsea in Italy to negotiate for Reina and Morata

It’s time for AC Milan and Chelsea to sit and negotiate transfers for Alvaro Morata and Pepe Reina. Two players that could change squad soon.

Chelsea’s Marina Granovskaia, general manager and right-hand of owner Roman Abramovich, is in Italy. The Chelsea directors have scheduled a meeting the new management of AC Milan, both parties will meet to discuss about Pepe Reina and Alvaro Morata.

Although La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that the London club seems oriented to keep the Spaniard (read here), according to Il Corriere dello Sport coach Maurizio Sarri want to reunite with Gonzalo Higuain, he too is a target of Milan. The English giants want to sell Morata in order to fund a move for the Argentine.

Gennaro Gattuso had already discussed the possibility of signing Morata when Massimiliano Mirabelli was still sports director of the club. Now that Leonardo has to deal with the transfer market, the coach has not changed his mind about Spanish striker. For Milan, however, it is difficult to get to him without first selling some players. At this moment the only option is an offer a loan with the obligation to buy. A formula that Juventus has already rejected for Higuain.

The second topic of conversation is expected to be Pepe Reina. With Thibaut Courtois headed for Madrid, Maurizio Sarri demands an experienced replacement and would prefer the former Napoli rather than Donnarumma. AC Milan club could make a good capital gain (between 6 and 10 million euros according to La Gazzetta) and save on his salary of 3.5 million net annually. The Rossoneri could also request for information on Antonio Conte, still under contract with the Blues with an ongoing legal dispute .
