Elliot conceives a Liverpool-style model Milan
Rossoneri CEO Ivan Gazidis envisions a Liverpool-style model for the future of AC Milan in revealing interview.
AC Milan like Liverpool. This is the objective of Ivan Gazidis and Elliott Management, owner of the club since the summer of 2018. The American fund, reassures Gazidis, has a medium-long term project for the Rossoneri. They want to bring the team back to highest levels and then resell the club for a very high figure.
In addition to reiterating several times that “there is no tension between me, Maldini and Boban“, in his interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Gazidis provided several indications on what path will Milan follow. Above all, the comparison with Liverpool, currently at the top of Europe and Premier League but with a very difficult recent past. According to Gazidis that’s the model AC Milan should follow.
“Milan’s future history will not imitate anyone else’s. But Liverpool spent 9 years in a situation similar to ours today, crushed by high costs. Liverpool tried to make their way and succeeded with right and often difficult choices. Upon arrival, Klopp said he would make skeptics believe. Nobody trusted, but today we see what Liverpool is. “I know, Elliot knows, that a football club is not a financial company, but a social, cultural, public institution and is ultimately owned by its fans. AC Milan belongs to the Milanisti. Important words from the AC Milan CEO but the high skepticism of the fans can still be felt. As a matter of fact, most of the fans do not welcome the project of the former Arsenal executive, accused of “clipping the wings” of Maldini and Boban on the January transfer market and compromising the signing of several players.
