Elliot to make sensational move for Mauro Icardi

AC Milan have entered the race to sign Mauro Icardi from Inter and a number of factors favor the Rossoneri.

AC Milan are searching for a new centre forward. The farewell of Zlatan Ibrahimovic from the Rossoneri, and perhaps football, seems guaranteed thus Milan need to plan for life after Ibra.

The most reachable name is that of Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik, particularly because the Polish number 99 has reject renewal offers from Napoli and his current contract expires in one year. But according to Corriere dello Sport, Ivan Gazidis will make a concrete attempt a bring one of the best strikers in the world at Milan, namely Mauro Icardi.

A crazy hypothesis, difficult, but not too much. Icardi is currently playing for PSG, on loan from Inter with the right to buy in June. However, his permanence in Ligue 1 is excluded with the player already informing PSG he has no intention to stay.

Icardi wants to leave France and return to Serie A. The 27-year-old striker was forced to leave Italy one time but that will not be repeated. The Argentine misses his life in Milano but Inter do not intend to welcome him back in the squad, considering him a burden.

Juventus remains a possible track for Mauro Icardo but the chances of AC Milan are equally promising. The Rossoneri know that it will be difficult to convince Inter to sell them their former captain but Gazidis will try anyways.

There are three factors that favor AC Milan. First of all, the will of Icardi and his agent-wife Wanda Nara is to return in Milano. Secondly, Inter could prefer to sell the Argentine striker to AC Milan rather than to Juventus, direct rivals for the Serie A title.

Finally the potential appointment of Luciano Spalletti as new coach of the Rossoneri. The Italian coach is the alternative to Ralf Rangnick for the bench and Icardi has already worked well under Spalletti although their relationship deteriorated at the end.

Elliott Management is aware that Milan need a couple of important signings in the summer in order to challenge for a spot in Champions League. Icardi could be the gift for the new season. His price tag is €70 million.
