Borussia Dortmund star offered to AC Milan

Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Mario Gotze has been offered to AC Milan on a free transfer in January.

According to reports by Calciomercato, the agents of Mario Gotze have offered the Borussia Dortmund playmaker to AC Milan just a few months ago.

The agents of the 27-year-old German attacking midfielder proposed the Rossoneri to sign Gotze on a free transfer. His contract expires on June and it not be renewed.

However, AC Milan rejected the offer in January. The club considered Gotze to be too expensive at the time because of his high salary of around 7.5 million per year at Borussia.

In addition to Gotze’s high wage, the agents demanded assurances that the former Bayern Munich star would be a regular starter at Milan. However, at that time talks were headed by Zvonimir Boban and Paolo Maldini. Now it’s Ivan Gazidis in charge, especially after the sacking of the Croatian executive.

Who knows, perhaps the new Milan management may have a different idea about Gotze. Elliott Management is opened to a couple of important signings. especially like in this case where they have to pay just the player’s wages. The potential arrival of his compatriot Ralf Rangnick at AC Milan could bring the parties closer.
