Elliott blocked Italian striker signing

Maldini and Massara wanted to bring Gianluca Scamacca at AC Milan but their efforts were blocked by Elliott Management.

AC Milan are still following Gianluca Scamacca with great interest reports Calciomercato.com. The 23-year-old Italian centre forward is having a great season with Sassuolo finding the back of the net on 9 occasions in 22 Serie A appearances so far.

Maldini and Massara appreciate a lot Scamacca and believe he’s the striker that mostly resembles Dusan Vlahovic. The two are powerful strikers with ample room for improvement. The AC Milan management wanted to make a concrete attempt for Scamacca last summer but their advances were blocked by Elliott Management.

Talks were held with Sassuolo regarding a potential club. However, there was a big obstacle during the negotiations. The Neroverdi were asking a high transfer fee of 40 million euros to part ways for Gianluca Scamacca.

The Americans were reluctant to send such a high figure for a player who most of the time was not a regular starter during his spell on loan at Genoa. Nevertheless, the 23-year-old striker managed to score 12 goals across 30 appearances. This season Scamacca has been more constant attracting the interest of Inter.

Under such conditions Maldini and Massara were forced to turn their attention on Olivier Giroud. Ultimately the French striker arrived from Chelsea to alternate with Zlatan Ibrahimovic. So far Giroud has contributed with 6 goals and 2 assists.
