Fiorentina-AC Milan, probable lineups

Today’s Fiorentina-Milan will be a do or die match for the Champions League hopes of the Rossoneri who face former coach Montella.

MILAN NEWS – A journey into the past to save the future. Today’s Fiorentina-Milan will not only be a crucial match in the Champions League run but also and above all a direct challenge between Vincenzo Montella and Gennaro Gattuso.

Fiorentina haven’t won a single match in their last 10 but the Viola won the first leg at San Siro so the Rossoneri must be very careful. Gattuso will no longer experiment and for Fiorentina-Milan he will deploy the old 4-3-3 lineup. Ex AC Milan coach Montella will use the same formation and hopes to cause a bitter surprise to his former team and to the man who succeeded him at San Siro.

The good news for Milan is the return of captain Romagnoli. Alessio was suspended for the match against Bologna but he will be back in the starting eleven at the center of the defence alongside Mateo Musacchio. Ricardo Rodriguez will start on the left while Ignazio Abate is again favorite over Andrea Conti, at least for now.

Lucas Paqueta is suspended until the end of the season while Biglia has recovered but isn’t fully fit. That offers Bakayoko the opportunity to play from the first minute. Jose Mauri performed well against Bologna but Gattuso seems oriented to trust the problematic French midfielder. Calhanoglu should play in midfield with Kessie completing the midfield department.

After some good performances lately Fabio Borini is guaranteed to start on the left wing tonight. The Italian, together with Suso, will be in support of Piatek. The duo scored 2 goals in the last match against Bologna.

Fiorentina-Milan, probable lineups:

FIORENTINA (4-3-3): Lafont; Milenkovic, Ceccherini, Vitor Hugo, Biraghi; Benassi, Edimilson, Dabo; Mirallas, Muriel, Chiesa.

AC MILAN (4-3-3): Donnarumma; Abate, Musacchio, Romagnoli, Rodriguez; Kessie, Bakayoko, Calhanoglu; Suso, Piatek, Borini.
