Gattuso: “I hope to stay. Andre Silva?…”

Coach Gennaro Gattuso is pleased with the performance against Cagliari and expresses his wish to remain at AC Milan for many years to come.

“I hope to improve, there is always something to learn and in my life I have never done calculations. I hope to stay at Milan that is the club in which I played for so many years. Right now the priority is to do well, to bring AC Milan to the highest levels, to find harmony within the team, Gattuso’s future it’s not a priority. I want to reach the maximum with these players“, declared Rino Gattuso, in the aftermath of Cagliari’s victory, interviewed by Radio Rai.

“This team has great qualities – adds the Milan coach – but having technique is not enough, today the ‘mission’ is to be a team. They can play football. So far, Lazio have surprised me in the league, I think they are playing an incredible season with Simone Inzaghi. I’m worried about facing them in the league and in Coppa Italia. There is no player-symbol in AC Milan but it’s the group that has been made available to me: I have to thank the guys”, he concludes.

Asked about Andre Silva’s lack of minutes the coach replies: “We will have 11 games in the next 40 days and there will be space for everyone. Andre’s time will come. The responsibilities are mine and it is I who must have the courage to throw him into the fray, because he is very strong”.
