Gattuso to make 5 changes for Dudelange-Milan

AC Milan will try to quickly forget the disappointing performance against Cagliari and secure the first three points in Europa League against Dudelange.

Sigh of relief at Casa Milan. The conditions of duo Hakan Calhanoglu and Mateo Musacchio were less severe than expected and are not cause for any concern. The duo is fit and will be available for the upcoming games.

As reported by today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport, the Turkey international, contrary to what looked like on Sunday evening, has not suffered any fractures, rather just a light hit to the finger that will not lead to surgery. The Argentine defender, however, has already recovered from the hard blow that cost him a slight head injury and the permanence in Cagliari for further medical exams. The former Villarreal returned to Milano yesterday in total serenity.

However, beyond the reassuring physical conditions, both should be spared for Thursday night’s Europa League opening Dudelange-Milan. Coach Gennaro Gattuso will not opt for a massive turnover but Pepe Reina, Mattia Caldara, Diego Laxalt, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Samuel Castillejo should start form the first minute. A great chance for all of them, as well as an opportunity to show that they are ready for a starting spot even in the league.

Meanwhile, in attack, Patrick Cutrone should also be available but his condition requires another look. The young Italian suffered an injury while on international duty and, after his first goal with the Rossoneri, Gonzalo Higuain is hungry for more. El Pipita is favorite for a spot in the starting eleven, despite the return of the former Primavera talent.
