Gazzetta: AC Milan 2-1 Genoa, player ratings

After defeating Sampdoria, Gennaro Gattuso’s team secures another victory at San Siro against Genoa. A 2-1 results that was not easy to achieve for the Rossoneri. Jesus Suso gave AC Milan an early lead but the squad failed to double the advantage and this encouraged the reaction of Genoa. After a bizarre own goal captain Alessio Romagnoli scored the winner at the 91-st minute gifting Milan 3 precious points in the race for Champions League.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport the best on the pitch yesterday were Romagnoli, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Suso. 7 rating for all the three. The Rossoneri captain is praised not only for scoring the decisive goal but also for his overall positive performance. Unlucky on the own goal situation but very precise at the end of the match.

Gigio was at his best yesterday, he made a miraculous save on Lazovic inside the area. As for the Spaniard, Suso scored a splendid goal from outside the box. It is his 4 goal for this season in addition to 7 assists. The right winger contributes a lot in attack but also in midfielder as his new position (right midfielder) requires.

6.5 for Franck Kessie. The Ivorian tank is not in his perfect physical conditions but still offered a good performance. He starts as central midfielder but often transitions as right midfielder with good results. 6 for Mateo Musacchio and Ricardo Rodriguez. The Argentine was secure and rarely put a foot wrong. The former Wolfsburg, used to playing as a full-back has become accustomed in the role of third centre back.

6 also for Gonzalo Higuain who failed to find the back of the net even though he tried a lot throughout the game. 5,5 for Cutrone who after a fierce performance against Sampdoria was clearly tired yesterday. Another disappointing display for Hakan Calhanoglu, 5,5. The Turkish winger is going through a very difficult period.

Tiemoue Bakayoko and Diego Laxalt also flop, 5 for both. The French starts well and then disappears, often putting his teammates in difficulty every time he lost the ball. The Uruguayan is less bright then usual and offers little push up front.
