Gazzetta: Milan’s plan B in attack

AC Milan are determined to bring a world class striker at San Siro for next season and are considering Timo Werner of RB Leipzig as plan B.

Despite the well-known problems with UEFA over the Financial Fair Play, AC Milan continue to search on the market for a great striker able to ensure a significant number of goals to the team of Gennaro Gattuso. In recent weeks, many names have been linked with the Rossoneri club, such as Belotti, Immobile, Morata and Zaza.

However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, on the newsstands this morning, a new possible target has emerged, a real plan B. We are talking about Timo Werner, 22 year old striker that has scored 42 goals in 77 games with Red Bull Leipzig over the past two seasons. The German centre forward is one of the most promising European talents and for this reason his price tag is already very high: 70 million euros, but this figure could also increase (or decrease) depending on his performance at the World Cup with German national team.

Obviously, until the final judgment of UEFA, the Rossoneri’s mercato is frozen. Despite the difficult situation, sports director Massimiliano Mirabelli is always working to keep alive contacts with players, managers and agents. Last season has made it very clear that AC Milan desperately need a true bomber and the club is working in this direction.
