Gds: The first two January signings of Milan

AC Milan supporters should not expect many purchases this January but internal sources will be real signings for the Rossoneri.

In the last press conference of 2018, AC Milan sporting director Leonardo declared that the January transfer window will not bring top players at San Siro. Instead the Rossoneri will ‘look’ only at the opportunities that winter may offer. The recent ruling of UEFA (that AC Milan have appealed at CAS) has blocked the club and Milan can’t invest too much in this transfer session.

But in the meantime, apart from the transfer market, AC Milan will be able to count on some ‘internal’ purchases that should be able to lend a helping hand in the second part of the season. La Gazzetta dello Sport writes today that coach Gennaro Gattuso will finally have at his disposal two players that have practically recovered.

We are taking about Lucas Biglia and Andrea Conti. The Argentine midfielder had surgery in Finland in his right leg and is missing from November. His recovery is almost compete and he will return on the pitch to offer balance to the midfield and a more linear game to Milan. His absence till now has been very damaging for the Rossoneri.

The Italian fullback on the other hand has been available for several weeks and played after nearly a year and a half against Fiorentina. Coach Gattuso has not yet used him from the first minute but after the winter break Conti will be an extra weapon on the right flank, useful both as classic full-back and total winger.

Two real signings for January, to which will be added later also the return of Ivan Strinic and Mattia Caldara. The two defenders need a few more weeks but soon they will also be ready.
