Gennaro Gattuso slams star after Napoli defeat

AC Milan seemed to be headed for a perfect debut yesterday but in the end Carlo Ancelotti’s Napoli turned the result in their favour leaving Gattuso furious at the end of the game.

The Rossoneri have not won at the San Paolo stadium since 2010, the year when AC Milan guided by coach Massimiliano Allegri won their last Scudetto. Yesterday was a perfect opportunity to get away with the three points but after leading the game for 67 minutes the Red and Blacks lost 3-2.

It was impossible for coach Gennaro Gattuso to hide his frustration at the end of the game: “We turned off the light, the final part of the game was a disaster. It’s a pity because we dominated for 55 minutes. I don’t blame single players, I am disappointed because we disappeared from the pitch after their first goal. We must be stronger than a single mistake, it’s the same problem we had last season”.

The former AC Milan midfielder then took aim at new arrival Tiemoue Bakayoko: “He must learn some basic things like how to receive the ball“, Gattuso continued, “He must learn the right position of his body and one week is not enough to fix flaws. The decision to start many players from last season is not casual.
