Giampaolo to give second chance to Andre Silva

New AC Milan coach Marco Giampaolo aims to give striker Andre Silva a second chance to prove himself at the Rossoneri.

MILAN NEWS – His return to Milan is a certainty. His permanence no. The future of Andre Silva, having returned to the base after a failed loan spell at Sevilla, is still to be deciphered. The young Portuguese striker will be a hot topic at Milanello this summer.

AC Milan’s soon-to-be new coach, Marco Giampaolo, is apparently intrigued by the qualities of the 23-year-old and would like to keep Silva at Milan for the first few weeks of the summer preparation to better understand if he can rely on Portuguese striker for next season. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Giampaolo has an ambitious and fascinating idea in mind: he wants to regenerate Andre Silva. Giampaolo favors fast and unpredictable strikers with good dribbling skills so it could be a golden opportunity for him. A perfect attacking partner for Piatek.

A sort of test for the former Porto who needs to re-launch his career after two underwhelming seasons between Italy and Spain. AC Milan paid €38 million to Porto two years ago and are trying to avoid a significant economic loss on the young striker. The Rossoneri are not in a hurry and intend to offer Silva another chance to showcase his true qualities.

At the same time AC Milan have ended their pursuit of Roma striker Patrick Schick. The two Italian clubs studied the possibility of a loan swap between Andre Silva and Schick but have pulled the plug and negotiations are now off.

Recently, interest in the AC Milan striker has cooled off significantly. Andre Silva’s agent, Jorge Mendes, was in contacts with Wolverhampton but the English club so far has made no offer to AC Milan. Giampaolo is giving Andre Silva a golden chance, it’s up to the Portuguese play his cards right this time.
