Group of investors represented by Jorge Mendes are interested on acquiring Milan

Between on field and corporate events it is not an easy moment for the Rossoneri club. The team of Gennaro Gattuso is in a continuous freefall in the league, while the club after the rejection of the Voluntary Agreement by UEFA is struggling with debt refinancing.

Let’s not forget that, if by October 2018 the loan of over 300 million euros plus interest will not be repaid, AC Milan will automatically pass into the hands of Elliott Management Corporation. Then the American fund of Paul Singer will probably decide to resell the club in an auction to make a capital gain. The club and the Rossoneri ownership are negotiating the debt refinancing with Highbridge, but it is still unknown if an agreement will be reached.

Meanwhile, in recent weeks the interest of some new subjects has emerged. Initially it was mention the interest of an Arab group. But today La Repubblica reveals that the investors of last spring, represented by Jorge Mendes, that wanted to burn Yonghong Li in the purchase operation of the Rossoneri club, are still interested and insisting.

The name of the powerful Portuguese agent, who takes care of the interests of players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Andre Silva (but also many others, including coach Jose Mourinho), has already been linked with AC Milan in recent past. For example, there was talks of the possibility that he was behind a supposed interest of the Chinese fund Fosun for Milan. Hypothesis later denied by Fininvest. We’ll have to wait and see if the group of investors Jorge Mendes is actually lobbying for will manage to acquire the red and blacks. So far the Rossoneri club has denied the possibility that Yonghong Li will sell the club but if he decides to do so interest is not lacking.
