German starlet could follow Rangnick at Milan

German midfielder Jamie Leweling is one of the targets AC Milan have scouted extensively this period.

Geoffrey Moncada and his collaborators have done an intense scouting job before the forced stop of the championships due to the Coronavirus emergency. Some of the players scouted will probably join AC Milan in the upcoming summer transfer market.

Among the young players whom the Rossoneri have paid special attention is Jamie Leweling. The 19-year-old midfielder plays for Greuther Furth in the Bundesliga 2. A player that potential next Milan coach Ralf Rangnick and his collaborators certainly know well.

According to reports by Sport1 (via MilanLive.it), AC Milan are not the only Italian club interested in Leweling. Udinese have also set sights on him. Without forgetting the competition of Schalke 04 and Tottenham, among other interested teams. The contract of the German starlet expires in June 2022 but Greuther Furth have an option for a one-year extension.

His agent Florian Goll recently spoke of Leweling’s future: “It is clear that a player with Jamie’s profile and his performances so far have not gone unnoticed. This is how our sector works but we would do well to let the boy continue to grow without worries. He is comfortable at Furth, he knows exactly how much he owes to the club and the coach. He works hard every day and can’t wait to restart“.

Jamie Leweling has made 17 appearances this season scoring 4 goals and providing one assist so far. Towards the end of February, an injury knocked him out, but AC Milan and the other interested clubs are ready to battle in the next transfer window. The 19-year-old right midfielder is also part of Germany Under-19.
