L’Equipe: AC Milan make official offer for French midfielder

L’Equipe reports that AC Milan have made an official offer for Boubacar Kamara. The Marseille midfielder’s contract ends next year.

AC Milan have been paying particular attention to Ligue 1 in the last years. Mike Maignan has arrived from Lille but he may not be the only French player to join the Rossoneri this summer. Maldini is looking a back-up for Franck Kessie and Boubacar Kamara is one AC Milan’s top targets. The Olympique Marseille midfielder has been linked with a move to the Serie A side for quite a while.

Kamara was the protagonist of yet another positive season with Marseille. The 21-year-old has been a regular starter for the French club since he made his debut in 2017. The Rossoneri want the former centre back to take Meite‘s spot.

L’Equipe reports that AC Milan have made an official offer of 12 million euros for Boubacar Kamara. The Rossoneri are waiting for Marseille’s reply but the Ligue 1 club is believed to be holding for a figure close to €20 million.

Nevertheless, due to their economic problems, and the player’s contract situation, Marseille will sell their gem this summer. The contract of the defensive midfielder expires in 2022 and he has refused the renewal. According to Transfermarkt, the real market value of Kamara is in fact 37 million and he is Marseille’s most valuable player so whichever club acquire his services will surely do it on a bargain.

In Paolo Maldini’s eyes, Kamara is not just a back-up. He is one of the most promising talents of Ligue 1 and will surely have his chances to claim more space at San Siro. After all, both Kessie and Bennacer will not be available for one month due to the African Cup.
