Real Madrid give AC Milan green light for midfielder signing

AC Milan have reached an agreement with Real Madrid to resign Brahim Diaz on loan with an option to buy for €20 million.

In a few hours AC Milan will announce the permanent signing of Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea for a transfer fee of 28.5 million euros. After the English defender, the Rossoneri will complete the return of Brahim Diaz from Spain.

The 21-year-old attacking midfielder joined AC Milan on dry loan last summer. His performances convinced AC Milan to extend the loan for one more season and this time the Serie A side will have an option to make the transfer permanent for a fee of 20 million euros.

Real Madrid decided to lave the final decision on Diaz’s future to Carlo Ancelotti. The new Los Blancos coach didn’t have Diaz on his plans and gave the green light to his return in Italy. It didn’t take long for Paolo Maldini to have fruitful talks with his friends, Florentino Perez and Ancelotti.

The 21-year-old Spain international did well in his first season with Milan. He scored 7 goals and assisted 4 in 39 appearances mostly serving as the alternative to Hakan Calhanoglu. While the future of the Turkish midfielder has not yet been clarified, the Rossoneri will have Brahim ready to challenge him for a spot in Pioli’s eleven.

However, Brahim Diaz may not be the only player to return for a second loan spell. According to reports, Diogo Dalot has asked Manchester United to extend his loan and stay in Italy. The Premier League club are currently looking to sell him for €20 million.
