AC Milan in contact with Lazio star

AC Milan are among the interested clubs in Luis Alberto who is expected to leave Lazio after the recent fallout.

The fallout between Lazio and Luis Alberto has created a lot of noise in Italy. The Spanish star has not joined the team in pre-season, as admitted by coach Maurizio Sarri, and is asking to leave the Biancocelesti this summer.

It looks to be a total break between the parties, with Luis Alberto determined to stay out even at the risk of salty fines from the club. The 28-yer-old has been one of the best players in Italy since his arrival from Liverpool in 2016. AC Milan are in search of a new attacking midfielder and the news that Luis is looking to leave Lazio has been music for Paolo Maldini’s ears.

Luis Alberto would undoubtedly be a great signing for AC Milan. He’s already familiar with Italian football and very suitable to Stefano Pioli’s play style and formation. AC Milan recently had a meeting with the players agency, You First Sports, and have asked to be updated on the midfielder’s situation.

The only obstacle for Luis Alberto is Lazio president Claudio Lotito who is asking a figure between 40 and 50 million euros for his sale. The attacking midfielder’s contract with the Biancocelesti expires in 2025, a factor that justifies the high cost of the player.

Unlike other options on the Rossoneri’s radar like Isco, James or Coutinho, Luis Alberto is player at peak form. In fact, he was the top target of new Inter coach Simone Inzaghi before Inter settled for Hakan Calhanoglu reports journalist Alessandro Jacobone.
