Maldini must be given budget to fix 2 mistake signings

AC Milan should be allowed to spend in January in order to fix two mistakes made last summer writes Pietro Mazzara.

Less than one month remains until the January transfer window opens. AC Milan will surely purchase a new centre back but a midfielder and a striker may complete the shopping campaign.

Journalist Pietro Mazzara writes that January is not a time for spending review. On the contrary, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara must intervene on the market despite the mistake signings made last summer.

Just because AC Milan are fighting only for the Scudetto and Coppa Italia, Elliott should not stop investing. The arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko and Pietro Pellegri was a clear mistake that needs to be fixed as soon as possible. That’s why a new midfielder and striker must be a priority.

Bakayoko has made 12 appearances with the Rossoneri so far but without any impact. The match against Udinese was emblematic highlighting Bakayoko’s shortcomings once more. In the absence of Kessie and Bennacer in January (set to play in the African Cup), AC Milan can’t risk having Bakayoko as a regular starter unfortunately.

Pellegri, on the other hand, has had numerous physical problems. The latest muscle injury will keep him out for around one month. In a time when Rebic, Leao and Giroud are not available, Pioli needed to have Pellegri under his orders. AC Milan must all they can to purchase a reliable striker in January.
