Man City and United to battle for Milan star defender
Premier League duo Manchester United and rivals Manchester City are reportedly in the hunt for AC Milan star Theo Hernandez.
The very positive performances of Theo Hernandez in his first season with AC Milan are clear to everyone. The French defender was a perfectly timed purchase by the management who managed to secure an excellent left back.
The 20 million euro signing was the best investment made last summer from Milan and now the market value of Theo has more doubled. According to the Rossoneri management, the former Real Madrid defender will be a pillar of Milan for many seasons. AC Milan do not plan to sell him but his great form has attracted the interest of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
The Sun reports that both Manchester City and Manchester United are interested in Theo Hernandez. Both are looking for a new left-back and are big admirers of the AC Milan’s number 19. Theo has been a revelation in attack scoring 6 goals in 25 appearances but he still has room for improvement in defensive.
Manchester City are reportedly frustrated by the inconsistency of Benjamin Mendy, another Frenchman, who hasn’t particularly convinced coach Pep Guardiola. On the other hand the Red Devils have Luke Shaw, a promising player who hasn’t not yet become what was expected of him. Thus a Manchester derby is expected in the summer for Theo Hernandez.
Real Madrid too regret selling Theo Hernandez. Los Blancos spent €24 million to buy the 22-year-old from the city-rivals of Atletico Madrid and may try to bring him back at Bernabeu. With Marcelo close to becoming 32 years, Real Madrid are already preparing for the future and Theo is on their list reports Marca.
Whatever club is seriously interested in Theo Hernandez must face Milan who have no intention to sell. The French left-back is highly esteemed by the Rossoneri so only a high offer that must definitely exceed the figure of €50 million could force Milan to change their mind.
